What is Usability?

Usability is the study of how at ease people use a certain product or how user-friendly for people to interact with a certain software or object. Usability testing usually involves a systematic observation under controlled conditions to see how well the person uses the product. For example, mapquest.com is used by a variety of people, old or young, to look up directions on the internet. The site is user-friendly and it is easy to use. It also offers choices in the vicinity so one could pick to be closer to the target requested. Another similar site is googleearth.com in which one could navigate the control as if one is flying the jet to zero in the target and to see the street views, buildings, houses, and so many interesting sites. The pictures are not up-to-date, but each picture is worth "a thousand words."

Can I get a resource?

I like to go to yahoo.com to visit the finance section. Here one can get a stock quotes, historical prices, analysts opinion, or looking at their performance over the years, or using the interactive chart to compare the performance of a particular stock against another stock or against the Dow Jones, or Nasdaq index, etc.... One could also get news, watching various videos, or going to the matchmaker, or just checking emails.

I like the site webaward.org where we can find out who won the best of show web award, or best web site award in various industries, such as, real estate, art, advertising, etc.... each year. It is amazing to see so many best web sites all at one setting.

My first blog

My favorite video website is youtube , it is a cool site where we can actually view other people video clips or posting our video clips.

Please check out academicearth.org , an awesome website in which we could listen to lectures of interesting subjects from Stanford, UC Berkeley, etc... A few days ago, I found out that tonsils once thought to be useless, now they actually help with making cells to fight diseases (see Vascular System II: Lymphatic System lectured by Marian Diamond in the Biology section)
